Prior to the Euro 2024 kicking off, M&DH looked at ways of running a fundraiser themed around the tournament. Looking back at our previous fundraiser involving football, we thought best to support local charity ‘Fun 4 Young People’.
F4YP provide amazing support to young people in and around Bedford, much of the support provides comes in the form of sports activities, giving them equal opportunities to develop, learn and achieve. M&DH fully support the work they do and couldn’t think of a better suited charity to pair with for a Euro 2024 themed fundraiser.
M&DH sat down with F4YP and agreed to work on planning an event where the entire business centre could get involved. The idea of a penalty shootout took off quickly and a raffle was decided on being the primary way of raising funds. An amazing pool of prizes was collected, donated by several businesses to which we are thankful. The raffle was £2 a ticket, for every ticket purchased a penalty was taken, with every penalty scored you would be given an extra ticket for free.
It is fair to say this event brough out everyone’s competitiveness. We had many people come back day after day, and we had plenty of spectators out in the sun cheering everyone on. The event ran over 4 days, a total of 4 hours, 205 penalties, and 267 raffle tickets later the business centre came together and raised an amazing £409!
